Music Engine

A short note to companies that like to encourage their employees to blog about things. This is how you announce a software product on your blog. I am impressed, particularly with the ‘Reasons not to use the Y! Music Engine’ section, viz:

“”I use Linux.” Good on ya. Keep on, young blood. Did you see that we have a COMMAND LINE SHELL plugin, though? We get some props for that at least, right?”

Whilst the 5 dollar a month subscription for DRM-d WMA files may only be available in the states, like iTunes it seems to be a very capable music player outside the rest of the business model scaffold. Also it talks FLAC and Ogg thus I shall be recommending it to my Windows using friends. Well done Yahoo!
